Most of the 28 recently digitised manuscripts from the Military History Institute Prague come from the 18th century. They mostly comprise military training manuals, but also works on administration (the treatise of Ignaz Kempf von Angret on the Banat in IIR B 2275) and on military theory (the work of Ludwig Andreas von Khevenhüller in IIR F 1612). Several manuscripts contain general as well as specific texts on military fortifications. The work of a military doctor (IIR F 417) deals with the functions and characteristics of individual branches of the army, but it also concerns the treatment of diseases based on the author’s personal experience. A few short manuscripts contain poems (IIR C 3675, IIR B 1888) or a heraldic treatise (IIR C 14160). The visual component is dominant in the volume with drawings for the construction of gun carriages (IIR G 372).
